Mike Fifield
Mike is the Managing Director of SpringRock Finance. His role is to assist the SpringRock team with designing and creating service packages and offerings that meet each client’s specific needs.
Over his 20-year career, Mike has worked in senior financial roles in both public accounting and industry settings. Over this time he has worked with business owners in many industries assisting them with a wide array of financial and operation issues including bookkeeping, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and financing.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honors (Co-op) degree from Memorial University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).
Leanne Baird
Leanne joined SpringRock Finance in 2022 as the company’s Director of Operations.
Leanne oversees the accounting function for small and medium sized businesses enabling owners and leadership to spend less time managing their finances and more time focusing on their business. Whether it be management of the entire accounting cycle; or, forecasting cashflow requirements, Leanne is poised to support business owners in every aspect of their accounting needs.
Leanne started her career as a financial advisor in the banking industry where she developed a passion for helping clients reach their financial goals. She holds Bachelor of Commerce and obtained a Chartered Professional Accounting designation in 2015 where she gave the valedictory address to her graduating class.
Over the past 10 years Leanne has worked as a financial accountant in both the private and public sector; most recently holding a position at the CFO level. She has a breadth of experience in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting and a keen ability to communicate financial results in a meaningful way to business leaders and stakeholders alike.
When she’s not crunching numbers for her clients, Leanne enjoys travelling with her partner and hiking the beautiful trails of the Newfoundland coastline!
Heather McKay
The newest member of SpringRock Finance, Heather joined the team in 2023 as Senior Associate.
Heather brings with her over 15 years’ of combined experience in audit, accounting and finance in a variety of industries including the recreation, food and beverage, construction, commercial real estate and non-profit sectors.
Before joining SpringRock, Heather worked with DewCor as their Director of Finance for 12 years, assisting with the financial structuring, reporting, budgeting, internal controls and regulatory compliance for a vast group of Companies including the St. John’s IceCaps and GlenDenning Golf, as well as several commercial real estate holdings. Prior to DewCor, Heather worked as an Auditor with Ernst & Young in their St. John’s and Bermuda offices.
Heather holds a CPA, CA designation and a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) degree from Memorial University.
With a passion for creating value, Heather’s career is rounded out by her volunteer work, as current Treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club of St. John’s, and past Treasurer of Shallaway Youth Choir.
Whether it be through providing clarity in financial reporting, tightening up controls or helping to streamline accounting processes, her mission is to help business owners gain control and comfort over their finances, helping them to grow their business and their success.
Outside of the office, you’ll find Heather enjoying family time with her husband Brad and their two daughters.
